Club Championship Policy

RULES OF ELIGIBILITY and CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

ELIGIBILITY:
This tournament is open to RPGC Members who are (a) members in good standing, (b) who have an established low index, and (c) who have competed in at least 3 RPGC sanctioned tournaments within 12 months prior to this tournament. 
Participation in the same event the year prior, does not count as an eligible round.

FORMAT: 
Stroke-play over three (3) consecutive days starting on Friday, August 11
and concluding on Sunday, August 13. In this year's Club Championship there will be a CUT of 25% – 30% of the field from each flight after Saturday’s round. Those players who make the cut will play on Sunday, August 13. The "cut line" for each flight will be made by the Tournament Committee. All decisions made by the Tournament Committee shall be final. Each flight will have low gross and low net champions.

TIE BREAKER: 
The specific tiebreaker method for matching scorecards will be published and available with the Rules of Competition at time of registration. The tie breaker for the Championship Flight low gross winner will be sudden death.

RULES OF GOLF:
All play shall be in accordance with stroke play under the USGA Rules of Golf. It is the responsibility of all competitors to adhere to the 2017 USGA Rules of Golf and the Decisions on the Rules of Golf as well the specific Rules of Competition and RPGC Tournament Policy.

HANDICAPS:
Because this a Major Tournament, all competitors will be required to use their "Low Index" or "Club Index" - whichever is lower. This index will be frozen from moving up during the tournament, but the Handicap Committee can always adjust down if deemed necessary.

Additionally, if a player's low index is revised downward by a GHIN revision, the player must use this new, updated low index.  To clarify, a player's low index is "frozen" from going up for the balance of the tournament, but if a player's low index is revised lower, by either the GHIN or by Club Index, then he will will play to the updated lower low index.  

REGISTRATION:
Members are required to pay a one-time registration fee of
$155 for the tournament. This fee will cover the first two stipulated rounds of golf and the prize fund. If a player qualifies for round three, the club will pay their entry fee for that round.

FLIGHT BREAKS:
Flights will be divided evenly based on Low Index.  

TEES:
Championship Flight will play from the BLACK Tees, all other flights play from the BLUE tees.

PAIRINGS: Members will not have a selection for tee times as is typical for other RPGC sponsored golf tournaments. The Major Tournament Chairman has full discretion with pairing members that are competing against each other within each flight. The tee time intervals will be assigned by flight sequence. The order by flights from early tee times to last for the three (3) day tournament will be scheduled as follows:

USE OF CELL PHONES FOR MAKING OR RECEIVING PHONE CALLS IS PROHIBITED:
Use of cell phones to make or receive phone calls while playing strictly prohibited, and may result in disqualification. Please make sure they are turned off. Use of smart phones for yardage purposes such as GPS and SkyCaddie are ACCEPTABLE.

GOLFER OF THE YEAR POINTS:
30 for 1st net, 27 for 2nd net, 24 for 3rd net...etc, per flight.

SCRIP PRIZE PAYOUTS ($6,000 TOTAL PRIZE PURSE):
1st Place Gross/Net (6): $350 
2nd Place Gross/Net (6): $250
3rd Place Gross/Net (6): $150
